Your new company, Hays Education is supporting a Cheltenham/Gloucester-based secondary school in the recruitment of a dedicated and engaging Teacher of English to join their team from February half-term. The school is well-established, with a supportive leadership team and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. English is a key subject within the curriculum, and you will be joining a collaborative department focused on raising achievement and fostering a love of literature and language.Your new role As a Teacher of English, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, following the school's schemes of work and assessment policies.

Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons

Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback

Support students preparing for GCSE English Language and Literature

Maintain a positive, calm and purposeful learning environment

Contribute to departmental collaboration and planning

This is a full-time teaching role starting from February half-term, offering continuity for classes leading into the exam period.What you'll need to succeed

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

Experience teaching in a UK secondary school

The right to work in the UK

An Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one

A passion for English and a commitment to raising standards
