Job title: Engineering & Operations Administrator – Food Manufacturing

Salary: Up to £30,000
Working hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:30 | Friday 08:00–16:00
We’re working with a leading food manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Engineering & Operations Administrator to join their operations team. This is a varied, site-based role supporting both engineering and operations across three sites, with Bedford as your main base.
You’ll coordinate contractors, manage documentation, track stock and maintenance work, and support the wider team in keeping systems and compliance in top shape. A great role for someone with strong admin experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
The Role…
Maintain and update COSHH risk assessments and safety documentation
Assist with department training rollouts (RA/SSOW) and keep training records updated
Order and manage site consumables, spares, and stationery across all sites
Organise and file compliance, engineering, and production paperwork for audits
Coordinate contractor RAMS, service visits, and site access
Support inductions, stock control, and day-to-day admin across operations
Maintain and administer the CMMS system and maintenance requests
Travel between Hitchin, Biggleswade, and Bedford as needed
What We’re Looking For…
Strong administrative experience – ideally within engineering, technical services, or manufacturing
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Professional communicator – able to build relationships with staff, engineers, and external contractors
Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential due to multi-site travel)
Familiarity with CMMS or food industry experience is a plus
