We’re recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading Independent Power Producers (IPPs), driving the energy transition through large scale renewable projects across the country. As they scale their portfolio, a new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineering Manager to play a central role in the delivery of nationally significant energy infrastructure.

The Opportunity

This is a high impact role at the heart of project delivery. You’ll lead all engineering activities across complex renewable developments governed by the DCO process, ensuring designs are technically robust, buildable, and aligned with long term operational goals. You’ll collaborate closely with work package managers and senior stakeholders to manage technical assumptions, streamline design processes, and shape engineering frameworks for future projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the development and delivery of engineering and design plans, interface controls, and RAID logs
• Oversee multidisciplinary design teams and external contractors to ensure compliance, safety, and operability
• Coordinate inputs from planning, delivery, procurement, and operational teams to refine design solutions
• Manage risk, track progress, and continuously seek value-engineering opportunities
• Define resource needs and support procurement of specialist engineering services

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Proven experience managing engineering workstreams on major infrastructure or renewable projects
• Strong technical background and the ability to resolve complex engineering challenges
• Familiarity with battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar PV, or similar technologies is a plus
• Confident stakeholder engagement, from internal teams to external contractors
• A degree in engineering, project management, or related discipline
