Grade: Consultant (other grades, e.g. Graduate or Senior may be considered if exceptional).

About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant‑level candidate (2+ years professional experience or PhD) with a technical background (physical science or engineering) or an economics/finance background applied to energy and low‑carbon sectors. Preference is given to professionals, but recent PhD graduates with relevant experience are also considered.
Key Responsibilities
Research, modelling, and analysis across a wide range of energy and net‑zero projects.
Data analysis (primarily in Excel).
Producing high‑quality reports and presentations for clients.
Supporting the growth of our energy and net‑zero client offering and portfolio, including tender support.
Engage with stakeholders and conduct qualitative research as part of consultancy tasks.
Contribute to commercial targets by identifying future opportunities.
Essential Requirements
Relevant work experience (2+ years) or a PhD.
Demonstrable knowledge of energy systems.
Proficiency in Excel and data visualisation.
Excellent writing skills – ability to produce high‑quality client reports.
Professional, consultative, and collaborative approach.
Ability to communicate technical outputs to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Degree in a technical, scientific, or economics/finance field (e.g., engineering, physics, economics).
Desirable Requirements
Experience with industrial decarbonisation, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), or energy from waste.
Experience with district heat networks, local heat & energy efficiency strategies (LHEES), local area energy planning (LAEP).
Programming (e.g., Python) and GIS skills.
Masters or PhD (additional reward).
