Location: South & South West England (Home-based)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electromechanical Field Service Engineer to join a growing service team. This role will initially focus on healthcare equipment-particularly ultrasound systems-with opportunities to expand into ophthalmology, robotics, and other specialist technologies as training is provided.
This is a field-based position, ideally suited to someone located within easy reach of the M4 corridor (with a preference for candidates near the Swindon area). The role covers customers across the South and South West of England, with occasional travel to Wales, the Midlands, and further afield, including potential European travel.
The Role
You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a range of specialist equipment. This includes upgrades, modifications, and customer support, ensuring high standards of service delivery at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, maintain, and repair equipment across the customer base
Carry out equipment moves, changes, upgrades, and modifications
Deliver a professional, responsive, and proactive service to customers
Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a structured and methodical way
Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
Maintain clear communication with management and internal teams
Travel within assigned and occasionally wider regions as required
Attend and successfully complete product and technical training
Accurately complete service documentation and system updates
Manage and maintain vehicle stock and spare parts inventory
Handle returns and disposal of equipment in line with compliance standards
Follow all health and safety procedures and safe working practices
Represent the business professionally at all times
About You
Previous experience in a field service or engineering role is desirable
Strong core engineering knowledge (electrical, electronic, or software)
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
Customer-focused with strong interpersonal xehkeey skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Well-organised, reliable, and punctual
Confident communicator with a professional manner
Full, clean UK driving licence
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English (desirable)
Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, or HNC preferred
Additional Information
Must hold a valid passport or be able to obtain one
Flexibility required for occasional early starts and late finishes
Standard working hours: 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm with a 1-hour break)
Participation in a Saturday rota (approximately 1 in 4 Saturdays)
