Position: Electrical Operations Manager Department: Projects Division Reporting to: Divisional Director Status of post: Full-Time Permanent Salary: Remuneration Package will be competitive and in line with experience Location:NI Based with occasional UK Travel Job Description To assist in the management of this dynamic department, performing as the Electrical Operations Manager Be commercially focused and have a reputation for achieving a high degree of customer satisfaction Lead the delivery of electrical contracts within this department Provide strong technical knowledge to ensure contracts are delivered in compliance with Employers Requirements, specifications and drawings, as well as to the highest possible standards Main Duties and Responsibilities In your job role you will be expected to undertake the below tasks effectively and efficiently. Good communication with the IME teams, client teams and supply chain partners is essential. You will be supported in these tasks by your Divisional Director. The main duties and responsibilities include: Oversee designated projects ongoing within the business ensuring they are being delivered in line with agreed standards, specifications and drawings whilst maximising profitability Ensure projects are being delivered in line with H&S Legislation, as well as in accordance with the principal contractors site rules and regulations Regularly visit live sites to have positive interactions with both our site teams and client teams Monitor and mentor the other Contracts Managers and Supervisors Assist contracts managers with preparation of contract reviews Chair monthly contract review meetings Take a lead role on Design & Build projects ensuring designs are being developed in the most efficient manner Assist contracts managers, pre-construction manager and stores team with project procurement Identify and implement more efficient ways of carrying out company processes When required actively advertise, identify and recruit new personnel Ensure project accounts (valuations, variations, payments, final accounts etc) are being kept up to date Assess and sign off sub-contractor monthly valuations / payment notices Work closely with the financial and commercial teams to monitor cash flow, sales forecasts and accurately project profit and loss forecasts. When required, assist with tender bid preparations and finalisations Identify new supply chain partners including labour only sub-contractors, specialised contractors and general suppliers Arrange and chair regular in house meetings such as H&S, Operational and Financial Meetings Build existing client relationships and try to identify and secure new clients Actively promote Irwin M & E within the industry Person Specification Behaviours Expected Self-starter Positive in all dealings with the directors, management team and staff Demonstrate sound technical awareness Commercial awareness Organised and structured in planning their approach to their own personal work assignments and that of the other members of their team Detailed care and attention to every detail of a project Understanding our clients needs and building lasting relationships from this understanding Strong attention to detail for quality and H&S processes Innovative and forward-thinking approach to each project Courtesy and respect for each team member Good personal organisation, honesty, communication, ownership, reliability and dependability Praise and recognition of individuals and the team for a job well done Criteria Essential Time served Electrical Engineer with commercial and industrial experience and/or Building Services Engineering Degree Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to work to a plan to avoid disappointments Good interpersonal skills to create meaningful reciprocal relationships with both colleagues and clients Commercially aware of costs and trends in the market place.
