Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Our Client is looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to provide electrical maintenance support across the site, ensuring all plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The role is electrically biased, with responsibility for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support in a heavy industrial environment.Hours Monday to Thursday - 7am-4pmFridays - 6am - 1pm Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedulesDiagnose and repair electrical faults on a wide range of industrial plant and equipmentRespond promptly to breakdowns, minimising downtime and ensuring safe restoration of operationsWork on and maintain high voltage (HV) systems where requiredSupport continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and suggesting solutionsLiaise with and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to required standardsMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentationEnsure all work complies with health & safety regulations and company proceduresCollaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance Skills & Experience Required of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer Proven experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environmentStrong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExperience working with high voltage systemsKnowledge and experience of PPM systems and breakdown maintenanceAbility to organise and manage subcontractors and external service providersGood understanding of industrial control systems and electrical installationsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Desirable Skills of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer Mechanical or fitting/maintenance skillsExperience with conveyors, crushers, mixers, or similar heavy plant (if applicable)Familiarity with PLC systems (fault finding level preferred) Qualifications Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)18th Edition Wiring Regulations (preferred)High Voltage training/authorisation (desirable) Personal Attributes Proactive and self-motivatedStrong communication and teamwork skillsSafety-conscious with a high attention to detailFlexible approach to workload and priorities DisclaimerAt Venatu Recruitment Group, your right to privacy is important to us.
