Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Hyde, Borough of Tameside

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our busy manufacturing team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing production machinery — including injection moulding machines, assembly machines, and conveyor systems — to ensure smooth and reliable operation across all shifts.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll perform preventative maintenance (PPM), handle breakdowns, and carry out electrical fault finding and installations within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all plant and production equipment.
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly to minimise downtime.
* Carry out fault finding on control panels, sensors, motors, and PLC interfaces.
* Install and maintain single-phase and three-phase electrical systems safely and to standard.
* Support with machine installations, modifications, and upgrades.
* Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to ensure maximum equipment availability.
* Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with health, safety, and electrical standards.
Job Requirements
* Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent).
* 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) essential.
* Proven experience working on injection moulding machines, assembly machinery, and conveyors.
* Strong experience with fault finding and diagnosing electrical issues on industrial machinery.
* Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
* Familiar with PPM systems and confident working independently on shift.
* Good understanding of electrical safety, isolation, and safe systems of work.
Working Hours: (Rotates on a weekly basis)
* Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 1:30pm / 1:30pm – 9:00pm
* Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm / 12:00pm – 6:00pm
