Responsibilities and duties of the Field Engineer role

Reporting to the Head of Projects & Design, you will: Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to carry out installations accurately. Work closely with project managers, clients, and design engineers to ensure compliant and integrated delivery of projects. Install, terminate, and commission electrical systems for generator and UPS equipment, including cable routing, containment, and panel wiring. Produce detailed installation reports, commissioning documentation, and test results. Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults during installation and commissioning phases. Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, industry standards, and quality requirements. Deliver basic operational training to customers and colleagues. Other duties as required.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (ideally via apprenticeship). 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671). ECS Gold Card (or working towards). Experience within commercial, industrial, or power generation electrical installations. Full UK driving licence. Experience with generator control/protection systems or HV switching is a plus (training can be provided).
