Field Service Engineer Headquartered in West Sussex our client is a Semiconductor Manufacturing Company serving a global market. They design and manufactures a range of equipment and R&D systems for Semiconductor, Photovoltaic, LED and MEMS industries. In addition to manufacturing, they provide a full service to its customers including custom design, engineering support, installation and spare parts. Description: This role is within the Service Engineering Department and as such will be involved with all facets of the business involved in bringing concepts to realisation. The focus of work will encompass final test and commissioning of new systems, upgrades, regular servicing and fault fixing of existing equipment. Depending on the role the equipment will be high temperature or chemical processing systems used in the high-tech manufacturing environment

such as semiconductor devices, photovoltaic cells and similar customised processes. The equipment ranges from relatively simple to highly automated. Primary duties & tasks: Will include, but not limited to: To carry out corrective, preventative, and installation activities on the systems described above at locations worldwide. Carry out final test procedures and debugging of systems in the factory before they are shipped. Participate in deign reviews for improved performance or upgrades. Diagnose mechanical, electrical and software system failures. Contribute towards technical knowledge sharing through ongoing collaboration with field and remote colleagues. Determine most effective repair/solution to minimize customer downtime. Take a lead in managing and supporting technical escalations through to resolution ensuring all stakeholders are continually updated of progress according to the company process. Maintain a high level of administration compliance adhering to reporting and administration procedures in a timely and efficient manner to meet regulatory requirements, including ensuring a safe working environment. Identify opportunities for additional work and report to management.

Required skills & experience: Knowledge of: o Mechanical and electrical assembles o Machine control systems

PLC and PC based o PCB workings and fault finding o Semiconductor systems would be an advantage o Vacuum components and systems would be an advantage o Chemical fluid handling systems would be an advantage o Gas delivery and control systems would be an advantage. Minimum qualifications: Good qualification in electro mechanical or similar discipline. At least 3 years experience of final test or field service roles. Full driving licence. No worldwide travel restrictions. Ability to travel. Personal skills required: Ability to work on their own with minimal supervision. Motivator and self starter. Positive attitude with solution based mentality Good at working to tight schedules and deadlines Attention to detail is essential. Salary: 50-65k DOE Competitive salary based on previous experience with good company benefits.
