TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for Workshop & Field Service Electrical Engineers for one of our external clients located in Essex. The Engineers will cover array of sites and Installation across the UK and scopes of work in the Southeast. Candidate must have experience within the heavy engineering sectors, electrical installation to a high standard, fault finding, ability to understand wiring drawings, ability to test electrical systems. If candidates have maintenance experience of High voltage systems this would an advantage but not essential.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults within commercial and heavy industry systems, including troubleshooting, system monitoring, and rewiring where required.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, servicing, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure systems operate safely and in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Interpret and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to support installation and maintenance work (training will be provided for company-specific systems).
  • Carry out high-quality rewiring and repairs on defective electrical systems and components.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship while ensuring all tasks comply with company procedures, relevant regulations, and safety standards.
  • Work independently to investigate electrical issues, identify potential risks, and report findings appropriately.
  • Provide professional and courteous support to customers, including answering technical questions where required.
  • Install and commission electrical systems in accordance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Deliver technical assessments and offer practical recommendations to clients when required.
  • Undertake electrical installation, testing, and fault-finding activities across a range of projects.
  • Support project teams during planned shutdowns, maintenance works, and project activities, and lead tasks when required.


Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of IEE Regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, plus Inspection & Testing (2391) certification.
  • Completion of a recognised Electrical Indentured Apprenticeship.
  • CompEx 1–4 training.
  • Experience within the power generation sector, including prime movers and Balance of Plant (BOP).
  • Experience working with high voltage systems.
  • Electrical maintenance experience including trace heating installation/testing, motor installation/testing, and actuator testing.
  • Relevant training and experience within heavy engineering environments aligned to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rota.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferably clean).


Details:

  • £39,000 to £49,000 inclusive of travel [depending on qualifications and experience].
  • Annual bonuses -potential £1,600.00.
  • Company van fully kitted out + fuel card.
  • 28 days Annual holidays + statutory/ bank holidays.
  • 40-hour week during normal office hours Monday – Friday.
  • Out of hours call outs (1 in 5) will be a part of this role.
  • Vehicle, uniform, PPE, tablet and tools will be provided.
