Senior Electrical Engineer – London – £33.83/hour (Umbrella)

A London Local Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join on an interim basis to support the delivery of a large-scale Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Reporting (EICR) programme. This contract role is integral to ensuring electrical compliance and safety standards are met across a diverse housing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee external electrical contractors undertaking EICRs, remedial works, and domestic fire alarm installations and servicing.

Review Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), identify remedial requirements, and agree scopes of work to ensure satisfactory outcomes.

Ensure accurate certification and reporting of completed works, including BS7671 compliance.

Produce detailed reports for progress meetings and stakeholder updates.

Conduct site visits to assess quality of works, agree on-site actions, and maintain compliance standards.

Liaise with internal teams, , and contractors to deliver high-quality service in a social housing context.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

Proven experience overseeing electrical works and managing contractors, ideally within a social housing environment.

Familiarity with Domestic Fire Alarm systems and related certification.

Strong reporting skills with ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Recognised qualifications including:

Full UK Driving Licence required.

Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent time-served apprenticeship
