Job Description

An experienced Electrical Design Engineer is required on a contract basis to support a growing workload within a well-established building services engineering consultancy. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a range of technically challenging projects across multiple sectors, collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary design team.\n\nLong term duration, outside of IR35.\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical building services designs from concept through to detailed design stages.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Design and develop electrical building services systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, data and security systems\n\n * Prepare technical drawings, calculations, specifications and reports\n\n * Produce and review design documentation across various project stages\n\n * Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, technicians and external consultants\n\n * Ensure designs comply with UK standards, regulations and client requirements\n\n * Support project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets\n\n * Participate in design reviews and technical coordination meetings\n\nRequirements\n\n * Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within building services\n\n * Strong understanding of UK building services design standards and regulations\n\n * Experience producing electrical designs across multiple project stages\n\n * Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech or similar tools\n\n * Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative design team\n\n * Strong communication and problem-solving skills\n\nDesirable\n\n * Experience working on commercial, residential, healthcare or education projects\n\n * Familiarity with BIM processes and Revit-based design environments\n\n * Previous consultancy experience within building services engineering\n\nContract Details\n\n * Contract opportunity\n\n * Competitive day rate depending on experience\n\n * Flexible / hybrid working arrangements available\n\n * Opportunity to work on a variety of building services projects
