About the Role We are seeking a passionate, optimistic, and dedicated individual to join our team as an Education & Wellbeing Mentor. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, helping them become the best version of themselves. As a Mentor, you will: Provide social, emotional, and mental health support. Build trusted relationships based on mutual respect. Create a welcoming and inclusive experience for young people and their families. Design and deliver bespoke learning packages tailored to individual needs. Travel across South Hams, Teignbridge, Cornwall and parts of West Devon area (travel expenses covered). Our approach is: Bespoke, and adaptable to each childs needs. Job Description & Person Specification Main Responsibilities Build genuine, trusting relationships with young people and their families. Create and deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences based on each young persons strengths and interests. Support the whole childwellbeing, personal care, social and emotional growth, and academic progress. Plan and facilitate nurturing, educational, and mindfulness activities. Encourage resilience and gently challenge young people to help them grow. Work 1:1 to meet academic, social and emotional needs. Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings and reviews. Write clear, concise reports that show progress and impact. Keep accurate records in each young persons Learning Journal. Follow health & safety requirements, including risk assessments. Ensure the safety and welfare of all young people at all times. Build positive relationships with schools, families, and external agencies. Advocate for young people and their families, always striving for the best outcomes. Work independently when needed, and as part of our friendly team. Transport young people using your own vehicle. Person Specification Essential Criteria Full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (with business insurance). Honest, trustworthy, and reliable, with a good sense of humour. Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential. Professional conduct and strong personal boundaries. High levels of motivation, commitment, and enthusiasm. Ability to inspire, empathise, and build rapport with young people. Good level of IT proficiency Hold a full UK driving licence (two yrs minimum) Have access to your own vehicle insured for business use Be willing to travel and work flexibly within the South Hams, Cornwall, Teignbridge and some parts of the West Devon area. Desirable Criteria Experience working with young people in educational or community settings. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection. Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Experience in multi-agency working. Creativity and initiative in overcoming barriers to engagement.
