Ecologist - London\n\nA well-established and growing environmental consultancy is seeking a skilled Ecologist to join its team in either London or Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to contribute to meaningful ecological work within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. \n\nThe successful candidate will support a wide range of projects, including infrastructure, residential and commercial developments, and conservation initiatives.

The role involves both fieldwork and reporting, with opportunities to develop expertise across multiple ecological disciplines.\n\nThis position offers a competitive salary, ongoing professional development, and the chance to be part of a dedicated and supportive team making a real difference in the environmental sector.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nUndertake a variety of field surveys including Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys\n\nAssist with the preparation of ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies\n\nLiaise with clients, stakeholders, and planning authorities\n\nSupport the design and implementation of biodiversity enhancements and habitat management plans\n\nContribute to project delivery from planning through to post-construction monitoring\n\nKey Requirements:\n\nA relevant degree in ecology or a related discipline\n\nProven experience in ecological consultancy or a similar role\n\nStrong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy\n\nExperience conducting habitat and protected species surveys (e.g. bats, GCN, reptiles, birds)\n\nMembership of CIEEM (or working towards it)\n\nA full UK driving licence\n\nDesirable:\n\nHolder of one or more protected species survey licences\n\nExperience with GIS, data analysis, or EcIA reporting\n\nCSCS card (or willingness to obtain)\n\nInterested in this Ecologist opportunity?
