SCA Care is seeking a Driver / Community Enabler
to support individuals attending services held at Chamberlayne Leisure Centre, helping them travel safely and engage positively in day centre and community activities.
About the Role SCA Care, part of the SCA Group, is dedicated to enhancing peoples lives through high-quality, values-driven care and support services. We provide a range of support including Day Services, Home Care, Specialist Care and community-based activities, always with a focus on independence, dignity and wellbeing. This combined role offers variety and purpose. You will be responsible for transporting people safely to and from Chamberlayne and supporting them during the day as a Community Enabler. A Transport Escort will be in place for all driving hours, ensuring passengers are supported at all times. There may also be opportunities to take on additional transport or day centre hours during the week, depending on service needs.
Your Core Responsibilities Will Include:
Safely transporting individuals to and from Chamberlayne and community locations
Completing vehicle safety checks and following transport and safeguarding procedures
Working in partnership with a Transport Escort during all driving duties
Supporting individuals to take part in meaningful activities as a Community Enabler
Promoting independence, inclusion and wellbeing
Building positive, respectful relationships with the people we support
Following care plans, risk assessments and organisational policies
What Were Looking For Youll be someone who is reliable, patient and passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling lives. Youll feel confident behind the wheel and comfortable supporting people in a care and community setting.
Essential skills & requirements:
Full D1 or PCV (PVC) driving licence
Willingness to undertake and successfully complete a driving assessment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and person-centred support
Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
Desirable:
Experience working in health, social care, or community services
Experience supporting adults with additional needs
Knowledge of safe passenger transport, including wheelchair user
