OverviewSenior Director, Office of the CFO // Data AnalyticsLocations: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Palm Beach, PhiladelphiaOffice of the CFO / HybridAt Portage Point Partners (Portage Point), you are not a cog in a legacy machine, you are shaping strategy, influencing outcomes and being rewarded for driving impact. Backed by New Mountain Capital, Portage Point is recognized for accelerated growth and is consistently featured in rankings from Inc.5000, The Financial Times and Consulting Magazine. Our cross-functional platform spans the full business lifecycle and offers middle market clients integrated solutions across Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), Valuations (VAL), Transaction Execution Services (TES), Office of the CFO (OCFO), Performance Improvement (PI), Interim Management (IM), Investment Banking (IB) and Turnaround & Restructuring Services (TRS).The OCFO team provides strategic finance, operational, technical accounting and data analytics advisory across the entire business and investment lifecycle. Leveraging backgrounds in accounting, finance, operations and consulting, the OCFO team provides holistic perspectives and capabilities to deliver unparalleled results.ResponsibilitiesThe Director / Senior Director of Data Analytics role is a newly created, strategic position within Portage Point’s Office of the CFO practice and will play a key role in standing up a new data and analytics capability, with an initial emphasis on data management rather than pure analytics (which will follow as the firm and its client base mature)This leader will help Portage Point and its clients move from zero to one, building foundational data infrastructure and governance in environments where middle-market clients often have no existing data warehouse, limited integration and poor data hygieneThe priority is someone who understands how to get the data (data pipelines, data architecture, ETL design, governance frameworks) and can advise clients on best practices for building scalable, high-quality data systemsThe ideal candidate will have a hybrid skill set: technically fluent enough to “talk the talk” and “walk the walk,” but commercially oriented enough to engage clients, scope work and manage deliveryThis person should have hands-on experience in data management, but the role itself is not heavily executional as most of the hands-on engineering will be completed by the offshore team in India. Instead, this director will oversee and guide delivery, ensuring architectural soundness and data quality, while spending much of their time partnering with other Managing Directors to identify opportunities, support the sales cycle and lead client engagements. The new hire will initially oversee a team of approximately 10–20 offshore data professionals in India, alongside an internal U.S.-based team member rolling up under them next year. Over time, the goal is to scale this capability, with continued growth weighted toward India while building client-facing bench strength in the U.S.Exposure to Office of the CFO work or finance transformation is highly preferred, though not mandatory, since the role will partner across practices (valuation, transaction services, performance improvement, etc.). The primary focus is on entrepreneurial leaders who can build structure where none exists, translate technical concepts into business value, and elevate Portage Point’s presence in data management and analytics within the CFO advisory spaceQualificationsExperience in data management, data pipelines, data architecture, ETL design and governance frameworksHybrid skill set: able to talk technically and translate concepts into business value; able to engage clients, scope work and manage deliveryPreference for exposure to Office of the CFO work or finance transformation; ability to partner across practicesAbility to lead and guide a distributed team and collaborate with Managing Directors to identify opportunities and lead client engagements
