Director of People Operations

The Director of People Operations reports to the Vice President of Human Resources at Dorado Software Group and serves as the operational backbone of the People function across a global portfolio of businesses. The role designs and implements core HR infrastructure—compensation banding, systems integration, policy documentation, recruitment processes, and employee lifecycle management—across multiple countries.
Location: Remote UK.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation Banding and Benchmarking
Map all roles across business units to standardized bands and titles globally.
Link bands to market benchmarks using sources such as Mercer (via Lattice).
Prepare data foundations for a multi‑year compensation harmonization plan.
Conduct ongoing compensation analysis for promotions, market adjustments, new hire offers, and internal equity.
Build and maintain compensation data in a clean, auditable format.
Systems Integration, AI Tools, and Data Management
Integrate BambooHR, Pinpoint (ATS), Lattice (performance), and country‑specific spreadsheets into a connected data ecosystem.
Eliminate duplicate data entry by building workflows that propagate a single update everywhere.
Own global BambooHR configuration and data integrity.
Complete the Pinpoint ATS implementation.
Evaluate and deploy AI‑powered tools to automate HR operations such as data validation, employee queries, and workflow routing.
Build and maintain AI‑enhanced dashboards and reporting for the VP of HR and portfolio leadership.
Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and applicable data protection legislation across jurisdictions.
Employee Handbook, Policies and Compliance
Draft, publish, and roll out a comprehensive employee handbook for all entities, making content accessible through AI agents.
Document and standardize HR policies aligned with local practices across all regions.
Provide training to managers on policies and ensure compliance through coaching.
Ensure all HR practices comply with applicable employment law.
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
Build the end‑to‑end recruitment process from requisition to offer acceptance.
Create standardized job description templates and interview frameworks.
Ensure Pinpoint is fully operational for job postings and candidate pipeline management.
Partner with hiring managers and external recruiters to fill critical roles.
Develop and strengthen the employer brand and employee value proposition.
Introduce AI‑assisted screening and candidate assessment tools to improve efficiency.
Onboarding and Offboarding
Finalize and document end‑to‑end onboarding and offboarding processes for all entities and geographies.
Ensure every new hire has a structured, consistent experience regardless of location.
Track and maintain onboarding plans with hiring managers.
HR Operating Calendar & Cyclical Processes
Create and maintain a calendar of key recurring HR events across the portfolio.
Document and publish how milestones connect to each other (e.g., performance review outputs to compensation decisions).
Define all related procedures, inputs, outputs, and roles for each milestone.
Train stakeholders on their contributions to each cycle.
Ensure the calendar is realistic, well‑communicated, and adhered to.
Employee Relations
Act as the primary HR point of contact for line managers and employees worldwide.
Partner proactively with managers to address employee relations issues early.
Coach managers on risk, communication, and difficult conversations.
Escalate potential disputes to the VP of HR and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
Navigate UK and European employment law confidently; engage local counsel where needed.
Manage relationships with third‑party legal entities and EOR providers in regions without legal entities.
Payroll and Benefits Coordination
Design and own the payroll coordination framework across all countries.
Serve as the senior point of contact for Finance and third‑party payroll providers.
Ensure the Senior Analyst has processes, templates, and guidance needed for accurate payroll coordination.
AI and Process Automation
Identify and implement AI‑driven automation across core HR processes.
Develop and maintain automated workflows to reduce manual effort in onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and compliance tracking.
Partner with the VP of HR to evaluate emerging AI tools and integrate them into the People technology stack.
Team Management
Manage the Senior People Operations Analyst, setting priorities and reviewing work quality.
Establish asynchronous communication norms with documented briefs, shared trackers, and structured handoffs across time zones.
Use daily overlap windows for live syncs and collaboration.
Travel
Travel to other Dorado offices and offsites internationally for team meetups, onboarding support, or portfolio events.
Qualifications for Success
7‑10 years of progressive HR experience focusing on People Operations, HR Operations, or a generalist role with heavy operational ownership, including at least 3‑4 years in a senior lead role.
Demonstrated experience building at least two of the following from scratch: compensation banding frameworks, HRIS integrations, employee handbooks, end‑to‑end recruitment processes.
Multi‑country experience across EMEA with understanding of compliance and employment practices in the UK and at least 2‑3 other jurisdictions.
Strong HRIS and systems proficiency with configuration experience of platforms such as BambooHR, Workday, HiBob, or equivalent.
Advanced Excel skills for modeling, data cleaning, dashboard creation, and handling large datasets.
Experience using or implementing AI tools, agents, or automation within HR operations.
Experience managing at least one direct report, ideally across time zones.
Excellent written communication skills and ability to document processes clearly.
Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, and takes personal pride in delivering high‑quality work on time.
Experience in software or technology companies preferred.
Experience in a multi‑entity, portfolio, or holding company structure preferred.
Familiarity with BambooHR, Pinpoint, and Lattice specifically preferred.
Experience with SharePoint or similar content management and collaboration platforms preferred.
Experience with EOR providers (e.g., Deel) preferred.
Experience supporting M&A integration from an operational perspective preferred.
CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) strongly preferred; equivalent international HR qualification considered.
