Position:
We are seeking a Director of Mental Health. This is a strategic leadership role at the heart of IPRS Health. Are you passionate about shaping mental health services that truly make a difference? As Director of Mental Health, you'll drive innovation, champion inclusion, and ensure our services meet the needs of our patients and clients alike. You'll work closely with leaders and frontline teams to deliver real impact.
The successful candidate will be a confident self-starter and accountable for the Mental Health clinical service. Operating a profitable and clinically safe service whilst delivering clinical outcomes that colleagues can be proud of. You will be focussing on growth and will achieve this by influencing and implementing new initiatives and products to enhance the MH proposition.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategically support the Head of Mental Health in overseeing the operations of all MH services, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery, including capacity planning and management of MH service departments.
- Develop and implement new initiatives and products to enhance the MH proposition focusing on clinical outcomes, service optimisation and integration with clinical partners both inside Handl group and market wide. Utilise data and analytics to monitor performance, identify areas of improvement, and make data-driven decisions, to maintain, develop and enhance the MH clinical products and services within IPRS Health.
- Provide market insights and strategic advice related to MH services to the board.
- Work collaboratively with your Head of Mental Health, to drive clinical outcomes whilst maintaining a cost effect service.
- Manage budgets, commercial reviews and allocation of resources to ensure optimal utilisation of all service provision.
- Ensure patient satisfaction is at the heart of service delivery, monitored, analysed and drives service delivery improvement.
- Provide specialist knowledge to the company and peers based on the overall IPRS Health service provision and market developments.
- Provide architecture input into new services and solutions, supporting the MH clinical, operational and client relationship teams, and provide ongoing support to the operations team to deliver the service to clients.
- Contribute and provide support towards new and existing business bids.
- Chair and contribute to specialist IPRS Health Working Groups.
- Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team within IPRS Health including being an active member of the Operational and Commercial committees, which includes influencing other key stakeholders.
- To support, develop and retain IPRS Health client relationships and ensure customer loyalty through excellent customer service (retention of contract) as well as meeting all client needs appropriate to their business (meeting of contractual KPI, SLA, Management Information reporting etc.).
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with key client contacts within IPRS Health’s top clients.
- Ensure IPRS Health’s services are continuously reviewed and evidence of effectiveness provided for ongoing client marketing, in the form of case studies, testimonials and external awards.
- To ensure effective clinical and operational delivery of IPRS Health standards to ensure contract extensions (where appropriate) are awarded.
- To oversee the commercial performance of the operational business functions ensuring performance meets forecast.
- To contribute to IPRS Health’s business strategy, including supporting the Client Relations Director in presenting to prospective clients.
- To contribute to the successful implementation of IPRS Health People and Culture and business strategy.
- To work with IPRS Health Clinical Leads to ensure that IPRS service responds to local and national initiatives and policy such as CSP, HCPC and NICE guidelines.
- To provide line management to the Head of Mental Health.
- To benchmark IPRS Health’s clinical service delivery against to competitors.
- To ensure compliance with appropriate control procedures (e.g. clinical audit, governance policies etc).
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and legal regulations (e.g. access to medical records, Data Protection Act etc.)
- Develop and implement business plans to maximise revenue and improve cost-efficiency
- Ensure that any complaints or compliments are directed through the proper (IPRS) channels as required/necessary.
- To liaise with other IPRS colleagues, i.e. Account Management, Sales, Finance, HR etc. to ensure smooth service delivery.
- To represent IPRS always in a professional and competent manner.
- To undertake any other duties compatible with the grading of the post as required.
- Manage direct reports so they are fully supported in delivering their duties and responsibilities.
- Work with the financial team to assist in the budgeting and forecasting requirements for the business.
PERSON SPECIFICATION - Director of Mental Health
(E) Essential (D) Desirable
Education and Qualifications:
University Degree level qualified in Mental Health Applicable field (D).
Experience & Knowledge:
- Experience of working in a clinical setting, preferably within corporate healthcare (D).
- Practical understanding of business (E).
- Demonstrates working to and achieving targets (E).
- Experience in writing and the submission of tenders in the public and private sectors (D).
- Able to present to a range of audiences (E).
- Able to interpret management information and presenting to clients (E).
- Engage in staff development and supporting business leaders to deliver exceptional MH services.
- Proficient in customer relationship Management, with the ability to proactively develop further work volumes.
- Ability to identify and anticipate customer needs and exceed expectations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence that can influence at all levels.
- Exceptional presentation skills that inspire the audience.
- Logical decision-making skills with an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to prepare business communications and exercise accuracy in data management whilst demonstrating good attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and confidence to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Confident to communicate effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing.
- At ease with operating in a changing environment.
This position offers REMOTE WORKING, with expected travel as required.
- Salary range £65,000-£80,000 per annum
