Your new roleAs Director ofFinance & Corporate Services, you will provide strategic, financial andoperational leadership across a wide and influential remit, including Finance,IT and Digital, Estates and Facilities, Programme and Project Management,Marketing and Communications, Legal, Risk, Audit and Compliance. As a keymember of the Executive Team, you will contribute to the development anddelivery of the organisation's vision, strategic priorities and business plans.You will lead thedevelopment and implementation of financial strategies that support long‑termsustainability, oversee capital planning and estates development, and ensurethat robust financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks areembedded across the organisation. Acting as a principal adviser to the RegionalBoard, you will attend and contribute to Board meetings and relevantsub‑committees, including Audit & Risk and Finance & General PurposesCommittees.The role alsocarries responsibility for representing the organisation externally withfunding bodies, auditors and key stakeholders, as well as leading digitaltransformation and service improvement initiatives that enhance organisationalefficiency, resilience and long‑term value. This is a highly visible andinfluential leadership position, requiring sound judgement, commercialawareness and the ability to operate confidently within a regulated publicsector environment.
What you'll need to succeedTo succeed inthis Director of Finance & Corporate Services role, you will be a fullyqualified senior finance professional with membership of a CCAB accounting bodyand significant post‑qualification experience. You will bring a strong trackrecord of leading financial management within a large, complex andmulti‑functional organisation, including responsibility for budgeting,forecasting, capital planning, cash management and the preparation ofmanagement and statutory accounts.You will haveproven experience of leading and developing nonperforming teams and ofoperating at a senior strategic level, contributing to business planning,organisational change and the delivery of complex programmes or projects. Astrong understanding of financial reporting standards is essential, alongsidethe credibility to advise, influence and challenge senior stakeholders,including executive colleagues and Board members.The successfulcandidate will demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation andinterpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively acrossdepartments and build strong external relationships. You will besolutions‑focused, resilient and adaptable, with the confidence to operate in ahigh‑accountability environment and the judgement to balance commercialthinking with public sector governance and compliance requirements. Experienceof estates, IT, digital transformation, governance, audit, risk or the furthereducation sector would be advantageous, though candidates with strongtransferable leadership experience are also encouraged to apply.
