Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and results‑driven Director of Media Rights & Distribution to grow our Media Rights & Distribution business in the MENA region, with a particular focus on key projects such as the Esports World Cup (EWC) and Esports Nations Cup (ENC). The role requires a senior presence on the ground in Saudi Arabia where key shareholders are located.
Key Responsibilities
Lead collaboration with the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) on distribution to ensure operational excellence and long‑term success.
Coordinate all distribution‑related workstreams across production, marketing, and internal distribution teams for EWC and ENC.
Secure media rights for joint projects, such as FAST TV, and for local markets, including CIS and others.
Establish and scale EFG’s local media rights business in the MENA region.
Leverage existing EWC & ENC ties and relationships to unlock new distribution opportunities in the region and globally.
Act as the first dedicated distribution representative for EFG in Saudi Arabia, driving revenue opportunities that require local presence.
Ensure direct access to senior client stakeholders in Saudi Arabia and the region to strengthen trust and strategic alignment.
Strengthen EFG’s regional positioning in MENA, a priority growth market where local representation is essential to win business.
Align and manage Match Data deliverables with the EWC and ENC, ensuring seamless integration of competition data into distribution platforms.
Leverage specialist knowledge of Match Data to strengthen the commercial value of our products.
Allocate time to the role as follows: 60% EWC & ENC media rights distribution execution, 20% local EFG media rights sales focus, 10% EWC & ENC Match Data business, 10% other business development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Proven track record in media distribution, sales, or a related field, with experience in a leading role; ideally 10+ years with 5+ in a leadership position.
Deep local ties and relationships in the MENA region essential to unlock new distribution opportunities.
Strong understanding of the esports ecosystem, live‑streaming, and monetisation strategies.
Demonstrated ability to secure high‑profile distribution deals and manage stakeholder relationships, especially with Saudi stakeholders and institutions.
Travel internationally may be required.
