A medium-sized main contractor is currently seeking a Design Manager to oversee exciting new projects throughout Scotland, with project scopes reaching up to £10m. The role entails steering the design development and control for one or multiple projects, aiming to enhance customer value, ensure buildability, and maintain quality in alignment with statutory requirements.

Responsibilities include managing the design phase from concept to construction documentation, ensuring adherence to project objectives, codes, and standards. The Design Manager collaborates with stakeholders to establish project requirements and coordinates with architects, engineers, and customers to meet design criteria.

Key Duties:

- Oversee design project phases, ensuring compliance with objectives, codes, and timelines.

- Selecting design solutions aligned with project specifications and budgets.

- Conduct design reviews to assess progress and identify potential risks.

- Collaborate with design professionals to develop comprehensive plans and specifications.

- Manage external design consultants to maintain design integrity and quality.
