An exciting opportunity has opened within a leading engineering organisation for a
Design Engineer specialising in Air & Fuel Systems . This role offers the chance to work on advanced engine platforms (C4.4 / C7.1) and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions from concept through to production.
What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of the
design and development of air and fuel system components , delivering high-quality, reliable engineering solutions. Your day-to-day will include: Leading design and development projects to meet time, cost, and quality targets Creating and developing components using
CAD (Creo)
and
PLM (Teamcenter) Running and leading design reviews with cross-functional stakeholders Working closely with suppliers using APQP to deliver robust solutions Assessing technical risks (FMEA) and defining validation plans (DVP&R) Investigating and resolving issues using structured methodologies (8D) Collaborating with global teams to implement engineering solutions Supporting production release with technical documentation
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset:
Essential:
Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience) 6-8 years' experience in mechanical or engine-related engineering Strong understanding of
engine systems and components Proven experience using
Creo CAD and Teamcenter PLM Experience designing
powertrain or engine components Ability to manage complex projects independently Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
Experience with
high and/or low-pressure fuel systems Knowledge of
air systems, EGR, or turbochargers Experience with
APQP, FMEA, DVP&R Background in
off-highway diesel engines Experience in
simulation, rig testing, and system validation
