The role
Benenden School is seeking an inspiring and ambitious educational leader to join our Senior Leadership team as Deputy Head Academic: Curriculum & Innovation. As Deputy Head Academic: Curriculum & Innovation, you will build on this success by leading the evolution of our Complete Education through the delivery of a dynamic academic strategy that balances outstanding examination performance with the nurturing of intellectual curiosity and creativity. You will strengthen Benenden’s distinctive academic offer by shaping our strategic approach to digital learning and the integration of AI across the curriculum, championing a culture of scholarship and creative thinking to ensure that emerging technologies are used effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
About you
You will bring a proven track record of delivering academic excellence across teams, with measurable impact at GCSE and A level. You will have leadership experience in education, either as a senior leader or as an experienced middle leader with significant whole-school responsibilities.
Alongside experience of curriculum innovation, assessment design and the enhancement of teaching and learning, you will possess expertise in integrating technology and AI into teaching and learning, underpinned by a strong commitment to academic rigour and ethical standards.
About Benenden School
Benenden is one of the leading day and boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 550 girls in the school, aged 11-18, with 190 of those in the Sixth Form. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two-year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and all-weather sports pitch, and the newly established Centenary Hall and Sir David K.P. Li Music School.
