About the Role

Milk Education is proud to be working closely with a network of supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Wakefield and South Leeds, including Outwood Academies, Brigshaw High School and Sherburn High School. We’re looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors who are ready to make a positive impact in the classroom.

This is an excellent opportunity if you’re considering a career in teaching, already working with young people, or simply looking for flexible, rewarding work in schools.

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom during short-term teacher absences, ensuring learning continues smoothly and students remain engaged. No planning, marking or teaching qualification required – just confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged students.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supervising classes using pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects

Creating a calm, focused and positive learning environment

Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Supporting students to stay engaged and on task

Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate

Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal if you have:

Experience working with young people (education, youth work, tutoring, mentoring, sports coaching, or similar)

Confidence working with students aged 11–16

Strong communication and organisational skills

A professional, flexible and proactive attitude

An interest in education or teacher training (desirable, but not essential)
