Job Title: DeltaV Specialist (Contract)
Location: North East England (On-site)
Contract Length: 6 Months
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Rate: Competitive / Flexible (Dependent on Experience)
Overview
We are supporting a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing organisation with a requirement for an experienced DeltaV Specialist to support the commissioning phase of a major project.
This role requires a strong background in DeltaV configuration and software engineering, and is not limited to loop checking activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery and startup of process control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Support the commissioning and startup of DeltaV systems within a GMP-regulated environment
Perform and review DeltaV configuration, including modules, phases, and equipment modules
Troubleshoot and resolve control system and software-related issues during commissioning
Collaborate with engineering, validation, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution
Execute and support testing activities (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ as required)
Ensure all work complies with GxP and industry standards
Provide technical input and documentation to support system handover
Key Requirements
Proven experience working with Emerson DeltaV systems
Strong background in configuration and control system software engineering
Demonstrable experience supporting commissioning activities on complex projects
Ability to troubleshoot and modify live systems in a controlled manner
Experience working in pharmaceutical or biotech environments (highly desirable)
Strong understanding of GMP / GxP compliance
Desirable Skills
Experience with batch processes and S88 standards
Previous involvement in large-scale capital projects
Familiarity with validation lifecycle documentation
Additional Information
This is a hands-on, project-focused role requiring on-site presence
Suitable for contractors comfortable working in a fast-paced commissioning environment
