Contracts Manager

Contracts Manager | Peterborough | Full Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm | £45,000–£55,000 DOE
Established over 25 years ago, our client is a multi-disciplinary building and civil engineering contractor delivering projects across East Anglia and the East Midlands. Based in Peterborough with most work within a 60-mile radius, they pride themselves on challenging traditional approaches and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Are you the right person for the job?
- Minimum 10 years' industry experience and 2 years in a similar role
- Background in civil engineering, groundworks, or plant management (experience can substitute for formal qualifications)
- Strong practical skills with a willingness to learn
- Comfortable with systems, processes, data and efficiency tracking
- Excellent IT capability (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
- SMSTS (minimum), CSCS Managers Card, First Aid
- Full, clean driving licence
What will your role look like?
- 70% Contracts Management – Oversee project delivery, manage site processes, ensure compliance, drive programme, quality and commercial performance
- 30% Procurement – Material take-offs, coordinating suppliers, supporting procurement processes
- Manage projects typically ranging from £50k to £2.5m
- Lead site managers, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors
- Produce and update project programmes
- Oversee Health & Safety and environmental compliance, including HS&E audits
- Produce and update Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans
- Manage subcontractors and monitor performance
- Produce CVIs, RFIs and maintain variation/delay records
- Produce monthly progress reports for clients and Directors
- Work to tight deadlines, plan ahead and manage multiple priorities
