We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and ambitious contractor delivering high-quality projects across sectors such as civils, utilities, water, and infrastructure.
Due to the nature of the projects, this role will require regular travel and working away from home, with accommodation provided where required.
Role Purpose
As Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead site teams, manage client relationships, and ensure strong commercial and operational performance across your portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple construction and civil engineering projects.
* Ensure all works are delivered in line with health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
* Manage and support site teams, including Project Managers, Site Managers and Engineers.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.
* Monitor project programme, performance, cost and risk, implementing corrective actions where required.
* Work closely with commercial teams to ensure effective cost control, forecasting and reporting.
* Oversee procurement activities and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
* Lead project review meetings and report on progress to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with contract requirements, including NEC or similar forms of contract.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across projects and delivery processes.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within construction or civil engineering.
* Strong track record of delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation, CDM regulations and industry best practice.
* Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project costs and performance.
* Experience working with NEC contracts (or similar).
* Ability to lead, motivate and develop project teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel / work away from home.
Desirable:
* Experience within water, utilities, highways or infrastructure projects.
* Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), First Aid.
* Professional membership or working towards (e.g. CIOB or similar).
