Are you an experienced Contracts Manager looking to take ownership of complex, high-value projects and make a real impact on safety, sustainability and delivery excellence? Join Balfour Beatty - Balvac, our specialist strengthening, repair and refurbishment business, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering multiple projects across the UK while building long‑term client relationships.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of multiple projects, from work‑winning through to completion. You'll balance commercial responsibility, operational leadership and customer focus, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards.
This role is office‑based from Leeds, Warrington or Derby, with regular time spent on site depending on project needs.
What you'll be doing
Managing the delivery and performance of multiple projects, including full P&L responsibility
Leading safety with passion and credibility, driving our Zero Harm culture
Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, managing change and expectations throughout delivery
Ensuring compliance with Balfour Beatty procedures, policies and governance
Managing external consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners
Driving operational excellence through planning, risk management, project controls and Lean principles
Championing sustainability, including waste, energy and water efficiency
Using BIM, Lean Visual Management and digital tools to optimise delivery and safety
Providing clear, robust reporting on progress, risk and performance to senior stakeholders
Supporting repeat business and long‑term client partnerships through excellent delivery
Who we're looking for
Proven experience in Contracts or Project Management within the construction sector
Strong leadership capability with the confidence to influence, motivate and lead teams
Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills
Sound commercial and financial awareness
Experience (or strong understanding) of Lean construction principles
Knowledge of contract conditions and change control processes
A valid CSCS card
Relevant professional or technical qualifications (desirable)
