Contracts Manager → Future MD

Hertfordshire

£80k–£110k + Profit Share

A long-established, family-run business operating across agriculture, construction, civils and groundworks is looking for a hands-on Contracts Manager ready to take real ownership – and ultimately step into an MD role long term.

If you’re the type who thrives on responsibility, leads from the front and actually wants to shape a business, this is the opportunity.

The Role

You’ll be running projects across construction, civils, groundworks and agri-build, managing labour, subcontractors, plant and materials, while building strong relationships with farmers, landowners and owner-managed clients. No corporate noise. No remote working. Real work, real accountability.

Lead project delivery across multiple sites Manage resources, safety, quality and commercials Price small–medium works and support larger tenders Develop teams and raise delivery standards Help drive long-term strategy and succession
