Overview: The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide expert clinical leadership in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and related neurodevelopmental conditions. This role includes leadership of the neurodevelopmental pathway, participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, and oversight of service delivery to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
Essential:
MBBS / equivalent medical degree and full GMC registration with a license to practice. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Psychiatry, with subspecialty experience in adult ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders. Demonstrated leadership experience within a clinical team and service pathway. Strong communication, organizational, and team-working skills. Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the adult ADHD service, providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Oversee complex cases, ensuring adherence to national guidelines and best practice. Actively participate in MDT meetings, contributing clinical expertise to care planning and decision-making. Support, mentor, and supervise junior medical staff, clinical psychologists, nurses, and allied health professionals. Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and legal requirements. Participate in on-call duties as required by the department. Maintain accurate clinical records in line with local and national standards.
