Composite Manufacturing EngineerOn-site 5 days a week Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 NO sponsorship available

An exciting opportunity is available for a Composite Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly respected advanced manufacturing environment, supporting the production and industrialisation of high-performance composite components used in critical engineering applications.
As a Composite Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key technical role in driving manufacturing excellence, improving processes, and supporting new product introduction activities within a collaborative engineering team. This Composite Manufacturing Engineer position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges and taking ownership of continuous improvement initiatives.
This Composite Manufacturing Engineer role offers the chance to work across cutting-edge composite technologies and contribute directly to product quality, performance, and manufacturing efficiency. You will act as a technical point of contact for internal teams and customers, ensuring manufacturing solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with a zero-defect mindset.
Role ResponsibilitiesAs a Composite Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
Lead the development of composite processing techniques and assembly strategies for specialised, high-integrity components
Provide technical leadership across new and existing programmes, including direct customer interaction
Drive manufacturing improvements aligned with right-first-time and defect prevention principles
Use data-driven problem solving to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Create and maintain clear work instructions covering the full manufacturing process from lay-up through to final assembly and finishing
Lead continuous improvement activities focused on waste reduction and efficiency gains
Create, review and maintain BOMs and routings within an ERP system
Define, specify and approve tooling for moulding and assembly processes
Lead PFMEA activities and ensure robust control plans are implemented across product lines
Act as the technical focal point for NPI and wider engineering project activitiesSkills, Knowledge & Experience
Strong experience within composite manufacturing processes, including pre-preg (autoclave and out-of-autoclave) and RTM
Knowledge of composite material testing methods (advantageous)
Strong problem-solving capability using structured techniques such as root cause analysis
Engineering qualification to HND level or equivalent, or relevant apprenticeship with substantial industry experience
Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently while supporting and influencing a wider operations and engineering team
