Goodman Masson are currently working with a social housing organisation in Sussex to recruit for an interim Compliance Manager.Rate - £350 - £425 a day INSIDE IR35 umbrellaAbout the RoleReporting to the Housing Asset Manager, you will take ownership of compliance across housing assets, ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are met. You'll lead a small team of specialists and work closely with contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies to deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage compliance across key areas including: Gas SafetyFire Risk AssessmentsAsbestos ManagementLegionella ControlMechanical & Electrical services (e.g. lifts, alarms, electrical testing) Ensure full compliance with legislation including: Health & Safety regulationsBuilding Safety ActCDM Regulations (2015) Act as the designated Building Safety Manager, ensuring statutory duties are met and building safety cases are maintained.Manage and monitor compliance-related budgets, ensuring value for money and effective financial control.Oversee planned maintenance and reactive repair programmes, ensuring contractor performance and service delivery standards are achieved.Lead and support a team of surveyors and technical specialists.Work with external consultants and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.Act as the key liaison with regulatory bodies and emergency services, including taking on “Responsible Person” duties where required.Ensure accurate performance reporting, data management, and contribution to business planning.Prepare and present reports to stakeholders, including senior management, tenants, and elected members. About YouYou'll be a confident and knowledgeable professional with a strong technical background in property compliance and asset management.Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in building maintenance, compliance, and asset managementStrong knowledge of health & safety and housing legislationExperience managing budgets and contractsAbility to produce technical specifications and reportsExperience managing contractors and consultantsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment Qualifications Relevant professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CIOB) or equivalent experienceHousing qualification (Level 4 or willingness to work towards) Desirable Experience within a local authority or housing associationKnowledge of stock condition data and lifecycle planningExperience managing large-scale maintenance programmes Additional Requirements Full UK driving licenceWillingness to travel and work across multiple sites, including contractor premisesOccasional out-of-hours working may be required If this role is of interest, please email over your CV to JBRP1_UKTJ
