About the Setting The provision supports young people aged 11 to 19 with a wide range of complex needs. Students may present with: Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Physical disabilities Communication and language difficulties Medical needs Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Sensory processing difficulties Many students require personalised learning approaches, structured routines and high levels of adult support to help them develop academically, socially and emotionally. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team to ensure students are fully supported throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include: Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual EHCP targets Supporting students with personal care needs where required Assisting with feeding, mobility and sensory regulation activities Supporting communication using visual aids and alternative communication methods Promoting independence, confidence and life skills development Managing behaviours positively in line with agreed behaviour support plans Supporting students during break times, transitions and enrichment activities Contributing to a safe, structured and engaging learning environment This role requires patience, emotional resilience and the ability to build trusting relationships with young people who may experience communication barriers, anxiety or behavioural challenges.
