Role Purpose
Supports adults or children with complex, high-dependency medical needs including neurological conditions, respiratory support, spinal injuries or PEG/tracheostomy care. Provides safe, compassionate 1:1 clinical support.

Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical & Complex Care Support
Perform PEG feeding, suctioning, oxygen therapy, catheter care (training provided).
Monitor vital signs, breathing and clinical presentation.
Assist with positioning and pressure care.

2. Personal Care & Daily Living
Provide dignified personal care.
Support mobility and routines.
Assist with nutrition and hydration.

3. Emotional Support & Relationship Building
Build supportive 1:1 relationships.
Provide reassurance during health changes.

4. Risk Management & Safeguarding
Follow clinical guidelines and risk plans.
Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns.
Respond appropriately to emergencies.

5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate clinical notes, MAR charts and logs.
Document changes and escalate promptly.

Person Specification
Essential:
Experience in complex care or high-dependency care.
Understanding of clinical risk and safeguarding.
Desirable:
Clinical competencies (PEG, suctioning, etc.).
NVQ Level 2/3.
