Job Description

Role: Commissioning Technician\nLocation: Peterborough (UK-wide travel required)\nSalary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Commissioning Technician to join a growing engineering team. This role covers the full lifecycle of installation and commissioning, ensuring all solutions meet technical, safety, and quality standards.\n\nYou will work independently and as part of a wider project team, supporting the delivery of site-based control systems for key clients.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nInstall, commission, and support site-based control systems and equipment\n\nCarry out site surveys prior to installation and commissioning activities\n\nSupport commissioning documentation and project handover within agreed timescales and quality standards\n\nWork closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and client asset operations teams to ensure full system integration\n\nWork in line with approved designs, equipment specifications, and configuration templates\n\nEnsure strict adherence to site safety standards during all installation and commissioning activities\n\nComply with quality standards, industry best practices, and customer requirements\n\nMaintain strong customer communication, providing regular updates to clients and project managers\n\nSkills & Experience Required\n\nProven experience in installation and commissioning roles\n\n18th Edition Wiring Regulations\n\nUnderstanding of SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems\n\nExperience configuring and testing manufacturer equipment\n\nAbility to work with remote configuration and commissioning engineers\n\nCSCS or ECS card \n\nBenefits\n\nCompetitive salary with progression opportunities\n\nRemote working\n\nCompany pension scheme\n\nPrivate medical insurance\n\nCompany van and all required equipment provided\n\nWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
