Job description - the role
On behalf of PwC, we are looking for a Commercial Manager for a 6 Month contract based in Coningsby.
We are seeking a Lead Commercial Manager to support a major UK government defence organisation on a flagship fast-jet sustainment programme operated by the UK's air capability.
This role focuses on managing complex, high-value, in-service contracts and delivering tangible cost savings across a mature, strategically important supplier landscape. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving contract performance, strengthening commercial positions, and ensuring value for money within a highly regulated, predominantly single-source environment.
What you'll do
Commercial & Contract Management
Lead commercial negotiations with key industry suppliers
Manage contract changes, variations, and dispute resolution
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
Engage with senior suppliers and stakeholders
Review and challenge pricing and profit positions in line with Single Source frameworks
Performance & Contract Delivery
Monitor contract performance against KPIs
Support delivery against asset availability and operational targets
The skills you'll need
Strong background in commercial and contract management within complex, high-value environments
Proven negotiator with experience delivering cashable cost savings
Experience working in single-source or low-competition markets
Understanding of public sector or government contracting principles
Knowledge of Single Source regulatory frameworks
Comfortable operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Active SC clearance (or ability to transfer an in-date SC clearance) is essential
