Are you an experienced commercial management professional? Then perhaps you can leave your mark on HMP Glasgow, one of Scotland's largest construction projects, conveniently located circa 10 miles North East of Glasgow city.
We have an excellent opportunity for an MEP Commercial Manager to join our team delivering this flagship project. The project involves constructing a modern, new-build custodial facility that is secure, energy-efficient, and high-specification, accommodating 2000 inmates and staff.

What will you be responsible for?
As MEP Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for delivering approximately £180M of service packages across the campus. Your duties will include managing the MEP commercial team and supply chain, overseeing change management, and other key responsibilities such as:
- Managing the day-to-day performance of the MEP commercial team, acting as an escalation point, and managing relationships with MEP subcontractors in line with the contract.
- Ensuring compliance with the procurement strategy established at the start of the project.
- Valuing and measuring change, advising on legal and contractual matters related to orders and change valuations of the project and subcontractor progress.
- Conducting procurement activities, including subcontract inquiries, tender reviews, and order production.
- Preparing monthly cost reports, commercial plan reports, and external client reports.
- Managing project cash flows and turnover forecasts with the senior team.
- Reporting and managing risks and opportunities, developing margin improvement plans, and driving margins on the project.
We want to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
- Qualifications at degree level or HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience managing and mentoring commercial teams within large schemes.
- A clear understanding of main contract forms such as JCT and NEC, and the ability to strategically manage risks and opportunities to maximize margins.
- Technical understanding of MEP services, components of individual systems, and the breakdown and interfaces of packages.
- A full UK Driving License.
This role offers hybrid working with approximately 3 days per week on-site. We are open to considering candidates across the UK and offer subsistence and disturbance allowances for those outside commuting distance to the project.
