CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter

Location: Leighton Buzzard
Shift: Permanent Day Shift- Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm- Fri- 8am- 2.30pm
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Link Consultnats are working with a well-established and growing precision engineering company that are seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys working on low-volume, high-quality components across demanding sectors such as Aerospace, Motorsport, Oil & Gas, and Defence.

If you are confident programming at the machine, working to tight tolerances, and producing precision components with excellent surface finishes, this could be the role for you.

The Role

*

Programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC lathes

*

Writing new CNC programs longhand at the machine

*

Producing one-off and short-run precision components

*

Working to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finish requirements

*

Carrying out in-process inspection using measuring equipment

*

Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings

Experience & Skills Required

*

Proven, time-served CNC turning experience

*

Confident programming at the machine with minimal supervision

*

Experience with Fanuc-controlled lathes (advantageous)

*

Knowledge of Fanuc Manual Guide i and G-code (advantageous)

*

Strong understanding of precision engineering and inspection processes

*

Experience working with a variety of metals

*

Comfortable machining components from Ø25mm x 100mm up to Ø300mm x 3m in length
(Hoist lifting equipment and training provided)

*

Self-motivated, quality-focused and able to hit the ground running
