Were looking for an experienced
CNC Programmer
to join a leading engineering team based in
Derby!
This is a hands-on role where youll work on high-quality precision components in a modern, organised facility designed to support engineers in delivering their best work. Full training will be provided, so you can develop your skills further, regardless of your current CNC control experience. While experience with Heidenhain or Siemens controls is preferred, we will also consider candidates familiar with other CNC systems.

What youll be doing
Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to create and optimise CNC programs
Determine tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies for efficient production
Set up and calibrate CNC machines (Heidenhain & Siemens controls)
Run first-off inspections and ensure all components meet quality specifications
Perform in-process checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure minimal downtime
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Hours
Flexible day shifts (38 hours per week, Monday-Friday)
Monday-Thursday: choice of 7am-3:30pm / 7:30am-4pm / 8am-4:30pm / 8:30am-5pm
Friday: choice of 7am-1pm / 7:30am-1:30pm / 8am-2pm / 8:30am-2:30pm (early finish!)
Pay
£35,000 per annum
Skills/Experience Required
Proven experience in CNC programming and operation (experience with Heidenhain or Siemens preferred, but other controls considered)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; basic GD&T knowledge desirable
Experience using CAM software (e.g., Powermill, Fusion 360, or similar)
Strong understanding of machining principles and manufacturing processes
Time-served apprenticeship, HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
