The CNC Engineer (programmer/operator) role involves supporting the Toolroom in manufacturing spares / modifications for a variety of Press Tools. The candidate will be responsible for the programming and operating of 2 Hurco CNC machining centers and 1 Charmilles EDM machine. The candidate will also need to be able understand and use Vero 3D CAD/CAM package. The second part of this role is to support the production CNC machining centers within the business and improve the OEE around these and support the CNC setters within this area. This position would suit a CNC machinist that has worked within a production environment producing batch parts and who also has knowledge of Press tool manufacture.
Job Accountabilities: - The jobholder must be reliable and be a good timekeeper, as the role is fundamental to the efficient operation of the department. Responsible for the day to day running of the CNC machines and producing items to the cad drawings provided and making relevant changes to the CAD drawings were needed and updating the files. To make sure that the best utilization of machines times are achieved and that instructions are left for the next shift if applicable.
