CNC Miller – Precision Engineering

£19 to £22 per hour dayshift, depending on experience and skillset.

Our client is a leading sub-contract CNC Machining company which was founded 22 years ago and has gained a reputation for producing high quality components delivered on time.

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Miller with expertise ideally in Fanuc controls to join their dynamic and innovative manufacturing team. About the Role of the Miller;

As a CNC Miller Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, optimising, and verifying complex CNC milling programs using CAD/CAM. Working with leading-edge equipment, including HAAS, Matsuura, and Mazak machining centres, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, high-precision components for a diverse range of industries, including motorsport and Formula 1.

Key Responsibilities of the Miller.

* Develop and optimise CNC milling programs using CAD/CAM software.

* Create and modify programs for machines running on Fanuc controls as needed.

* Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications to define efficient machining strategies.

* Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and fixturing methods for maximum performance.

* Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling machines (HAAS, Matsuura, Mazak).

* Conduct first-off inspections and perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools.

* Troubleshoot machining issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal output.

* Maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling records, and program documentation.

* Collaborate closely with design engineers and production teams to ensure project success.

* Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Requirements of the Miller;

* Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer in a precision engineering environment.

* Strong experience with CAD/CAM software (desirable).

* Familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly advantageous.

* Sound understanding of GD&T and advanced machining principles.

* Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications are advantageous
