Outline of the role and the ideal skills of the candidate:
The opportunity has arisen to join our manufacturing team producing our inhouse machinery. This is an interesting role where no 2 days are the same, the job is multi-functional. The main skill is Machining (CNC and manual ideally) but the role will involve laser cutting parts for in-house production and press brake work as well. Training will be given!
You will work within the production team specialising in machining and programming of a large variety of components for the machines we offer to our customers whilst ensuring you are in close communication with the Production and Operations Managers working to production timeframes and deadlines.
- Using the CNC machine (HAAS TM3P)
o Programming new parts and updating programs using CAD/CAM software (OneCNC)
o Creating and updating job sheets
o Fitting the right tools to machines
o Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories
o Setting tolerance levels and cutting speeds
- Cleaning the CNC machine, and doing minor maintenance
- Liaising with stores to order / book raw material, and any relevant consumables
- Operating other industrial machinery which are part of our production process, which includes:
o Operating the laser and plasma cutting machine (cutting metal parts)
o Operating the servo-electronic press brake,
o Sanding metal parts by operating our automatic sanding machine
o Using other equipment such as: lathe, pillar drill, bandsaw, guillotine and power tools
You will be a naturally organised person with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with at least 5 years' experience in manufacturing. You will have experience with a range of tools such as lathes, mills, CNC's, press brakes, gantry cranes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
? Work with colleagues within the operations team to manufacture components for machines in build, for stock and for spares keeping to design plans and time targets.
? Effective communication within the Production team, Operations team, and where necessary other departments within the business.
? Work constructively with other Team members in a positive and supportive way to ensure smooth and efficient running of business operations
? Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities and any other business/organisational development activities.
? Work with Engineering staff to act as a constructive focal point for the development of products and processes including Supplier discussions as/if required.
? Provide additional support and to work flexibly when and where necessary to ensure the effective and efficient running of all business operations.
