Location: Irlam Full-Time | PermanentWorking hours:Monday to Thursday: 8:00am 4:30pmFriday: 7:30am 3:00pmAre you a skilled CNC Miller who takes pride in precision engineering?Were looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Milling) to join our Machine Shop in Irlam. This is a hands-on role where youll be programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machines, including machines equipped with 2-axis rotary tables.If you enjoy working from detailed engineering drawings, improving cycle times and delivering high-quality components right first time, this could be the role for you.The RoleAs a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for machining a variety of materials to meet production, quality and delivery targets. Youll be trusted to manage jobs from drawing to finished part, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout.Key duties include:Programming CNC milling machines using Fanuc GuideSetting and operating CNC mills, including 2-axis rotary tablesEditing and optimising programs to improve efficiency and reduce cycle timesInterpreting engineering drawings and GD&TSelecting appropriate tooling, cutter presentation and coolant strategiesSetting tool registers, offsets and cutter compensationProving out new programs and troubleshooting issuesUsing Renishaw probing systems for setup and in-process inspectionInspecting first-off and sample components to ensure quality standardsMonitoring milling, drilling, tapping, boring and pocketing operationsWorking with a range of materials (experience with PTFE or composites advantageous)Completing production documentation and recording job progress via SAPCarrying out routine machine maintenance and fault reportingYou may occasionally be required to travel to other UK sites or Romania.What Were Looking ForTime-served apprenticeship or minimum 3 years CNC milling experienceExperience programming Fanuc-controlled CNC machines (XYZCB axis)Good understanding of conversational programmingAbility to interpret complex engineering drawings and tolerancesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExperience with Renishaw probing systems desirableCAD/CAM experience (preferably EDGECAM) advantageousCMM experience beneficialHNC/HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent) preferredAbout YouYoure technically strong, organised and quality-focused.
