South West England An expanding consultancy is seeking a highly driven Clerk of Works to join its team. This is a home/field based role working across projects in the South West of England. The organisation operates in sectors including residential, commercial, arts and leisure, and education

The ability to manage multiple tasks or projects to deadlines

A collaborative mindset, working closely with clients and colleagues

Sound knowledge of building construction

A professional approach to daily tasks

Strong report writing and presentation skills

Good verbal communication skills and confidence in meetings

The ability to work independently when required

Commercial awareness and financial understanding

A valid CSCS card

A full, clean driving licence (travel to multiple sites is required)

Role Summary The Clerk of Works will be responsible for inspecting workmanship, quality, and safety on projects, reporting to surveyors, aftercare teams, and clients. Projects are varied, offering opportunities to make a positive impact on local communities. Key responsibilities include: Attending initial and recurring project meetings to fully understand specifications and requirements

Conducting regular site inspections to ensure works meet drawings and specifications

Producing and distributing inspection, progress, and quality reports

Taking and providing progress photographs

Attending site meetings and giving verbal updates

Preparing snagging and de-snagging sheets

Assisting in handover procedures
