Class 1 Drivers

to join our

General Haulage

team,

based out of Penrith . There are opportunities to work either

dayshift

or

nightshift

on a 5 days per week, Monday to Friday shift pattern. Benefits Include Weekday dayshift rate £14.12* Weekday nightshift rate of £15.52* Enhanced rates available for weekend working Life insurance Medicash scheme *Rates are inclusive of £1.50 taxable meal rate/£1 non-taxable meal rate (where applicable). *Driver Efficiency Bonus Scheme: Earn up to £1,500 per annum (full-time equivalent) Responsibilities Delivering a professional and efficient driving service within our General Haulage team, undertaking deliveries and collections of products on behalf of Wm Armstrong Group. All duties associated with being a professional driver. Loading/Unloading and securing loads. Dealing with customers face to face. Keeping in regular contact with transport office team for updates on progress and managing customers expectations. Cross cover of work within other areas of the business as required. Requirements Hold a valid UK Class 1 licence. Hold a current DCPC card and digital tachograph card. Experience and knowledge of the general haulage industry is preferred, but not essential. Ability to work unsupervised, or as part of a wider team, and be able to use your own initiative To be successful in this role you will be a real team player, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and good geographical knowledge.
