Working within the Major Projects division for SP Transmission, you’ll play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects that power homes and businesses across Scotland.
What you’ll be doing
As a Site Manager, you’ll lead the on-site delivery of civils construction works, acting as Principal Contractor and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations. You’ll:
* Manage construction outputs and ensure alignment with engineering design and standards.
* Oversee contractor performance, quality, and environmental compliance.
* Drive commercial and programme performance across work packages (£5–10 million CAPEX).
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient delivery.
* Support sustainability and biodiversity targets in line with OFGEM regulations.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with:
* Experience managing civils elements of transmission projects in Scotland.
* Strong understanding of civil and structural design, inspection, and testing.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM 2015 regulations.
* Excellent leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools (e.g. Teams).
* A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work autonomously in site environments.
Essential requirements
* HND in Engineering/Construction or equivalent site management experience in the power sector.
* SMSTS (5-day) qualification
* 3 day First Aid qualification ()
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong IT skills
