Ideally Candidates will have: Nuclear experience Hinckley Point or Sizewell C experience Experience developing structural design method statements Candidates can start with BPSS security clearance whilst higher level clearance is being undertaken. Amentum is currently recruiting for a Civil and Structural Engineer to join our Energy business to support the Structural Design Method Statement (SDMS) and Design Substantiation Reports (DSR)production at Sizewell C.

And this is where you come in:

Your role will be to support and deliver civil and structural engineering solutions to time, cost and quality on projects of varying sizes. If you're familiar with project delivery, you'll know that they have lots of moving parts and complexity, which is why you'll be working alongside our Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers and Operations Managers to enable delivery of maximum value.

Key responsibilities could include:

Preparation of safety case key references such as Structural Design Method Statements (SDMSs) and Design Substantiation Reports (DSR). Assist in the preparation of design safety documentation and compliance with nuclear safety standards Contribute to problem-solving, technical investigations, and root cause analysis. Produce high-quality technical reports. Build and maintain valuable relationships with peers, partners and clients. Essential Criteria: MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in civil engineering or another relevant discipline. Chartered or working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries). Knowledge and experience of Eurocodes and the French ETC-C code is highly desirable Experience using finite element modelling software and associated post processing software, with experience in validation and verification of modelling tools and their outputs. Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and good practice. UK Nuclear Licencing and Generic Design Assessment process experience is desirable Motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress. Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders. Committed to Continuous Professional Development.
