About the Role We are currently recruiting Children’s Residential Support Workers to support children and young people within residential settings in the area of Newcastle, Sunderland, and durham. This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting vulnerable children and young people to feel safe, valued, and empowered.
As a support worker, you will work alongside experienced teams within children’s residential settings, helping to provide a stable, nurturing, and supportive environment. Your role will involve supporting young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting children and young people in residential care settings
*
Promoting a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
*
Assisting with daily routines including activities, education, and appointments
*
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
*
Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
*
Working as part of a team to maintain safeguarding and care standards
*
Completing accurate records and reports where required
Requirements
*
Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people in a residential setting (preferred)
*
A passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people
*
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
*
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills
*
Right to work in the UK
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
*
Full UK driving licence
*
Physical intervention training
