BX is a fast-growing climate tech company on a mission to restore the planet through better farming. We’re building the environmental intelligence layer for agriculture, helping farmers take measurable action on carbon, biodiversity, soil health and more.


We’re now hiring our first Chief Scientific Officer: a strategic thinker who’s also a hands-on builder. Someone who can take complex environmental science and translate it into clear, usable, scalable insight through technology.


This is a rare opportunity to shape the scientific foundation of a first-in-market platform and lead how science drives real outcomes for farmers, food systems, and the planet.


What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead BX’s science function and help evolve our tech platform. Specifically, you’ll:

  • Own the scientific vision behind our intelligence engine, which turns raw farm data into environmental insight
  • Define and uphold the scientific models, assumptions, and logic used to generate outputs on carbon, soil, water, biodiversity, and more
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to turn regenerative agriculture science into usable software features
  • Lead our on-farm research programme, testing and validating practices that feed directly into our platform
  • Build and mentor a high-performing, purpose-driven scientific team, starting small and scaling as we grow
  • Represent BX’s scientific credibility externally, from methodology bodies to conferences and investor conversations


We think you’ll thrive here if:

  • You’ve helped build a scientific product or platform, ideally in ag-tech, environmental data, or climate software
  • You’re experienced in areas like regenerative agriculture, agronomy, soil health, farm system modelling or GHG emissions
  • You know how to take field-level complexity and distil it into models that work at scale
  • You’re as comfortable running trials or validating outputs as you are shaping scientific direction and technology integration
  • You’ve led or mentored scientific teams, or are ready to step up into an executive role
